  • How do I place a custom order?
    There is currently 2 options available to place your custom orders with us: Option 1: Regular Customs. We carry a selection of accessories in house ready to customize. If you are interested in ordering your dream custom with us send us a message through our contact us form or "Book a Sesh" with us to book a free 30-min video call. The deposits payment made on these pieces is to cover basic material costs and you will be invoiced a final bill for the cost of labor to customize your dream collection. If you are unsure of what you'd like and have questions contact us and we can talk different budgets and the concept for your custom piece. Option 2: If you are looking for something different than what we have in stock, such using a specific brand of glass or other types of smoking accessories like shisha pipes, table top e-rigs and more, we are happy to chat about a special order! If you are interested in knowing more about ordering your dream custom with us send us a message through our contact us form or "Book a Sesh" with us to book a free 30-min video call. Specials orders require a longer processing and ship time to account receiving your shipment from our wholesaler on our end. Quoted time estimate will be provided beforehand and a 50% deposit is required for ALL Special orders before accessories are ordered.   • How long does a custom order typically take to make?
    It current typical wait time is 4-6 weeks from start to finish of your order. This does not include customs that require special orders or on orders of 3+ custom pieces/wholesale orders. The current wait time can also change depending how busy we are with other orders and stock availability. In the case of any delays, we strive our best to keep you updated along the process with progress photos and videos of your pieces, and provide information like tracking numbers so you can have peace of mind that they will be on their way to you soon! We reserve the right to change our turnover times or close our books for customs at anytime based off needs of the business.   • Do you offer payment plans for custom orders?
    Our current custom order plan is typically a 50% deposit and the last is 50% due (roughly 6-8 weeks later) once painting is done but BEFORE shipping. However, depending on volume of sales and if our custom order slots fill up this can change at any given time, we reserve the right to make adjustments as needed and will always strive to communicate any changes with you as best as we can. In an effort to make our accessories accessible to everyone we are open to talking about other payment plan options. This will be decided on a case by case basis. No orders will be shipped without full payment received.
  • What if I want to purchase a custom for a gift but don't know what design they want?
    First off, Your such an awesome person for getting one of our hand-painted customs as a gift! If you don't know what design they would want we suggest purchasing a gift card through our site. As a guide custom pieces like rolling trays start from 40$ and up and glass can start from 150$ and up. Depending what your budget is, pick an amount that works for you. We try to be accessible and fit all budgets so there is something for everyone! They can then redeem the gift card towards their custom order or pick their favorite collections from our ready-to-ship shop.
  • Is Moonstoned Alternative a small business?
    When we say "we" or "us" throughout our site and social media, know that there is currently only 1 person who does all the artwork, marketing, sales, customer service, social media, bookkeeping, strategic planning and more. We hope to be able to expand and hire in the future but know that when you shop with us you are supporting a micro business owned and operated exclusvely by Monica Pereira. We plan to add more details about the Monica in the near future, so feel free to send us any questions you may have about "us"!!
  • Since each piece is Hand-painted, will the paint come off?
    Everyone of our Hand-painted pieces is sealed with a Heat-resistant, food-safe and alcohol-safe epoxy. This means you can use it and clean it and your artwork will be protected for the life of the piece.
  • How do I clean my pieces?
    All of our smoke accessories are sealed with a heat- resistant, food-safe and alcohol-safe epoxy. Which means you can use any of your favorite cleaners on your accessories and your art will be protected. In a pinch, a simple mix of Rubbing alcohol (90% or higher) and salt will clean out any resins and planet matter stuck to your accessories. Give it a good shake or scrub with brush/cloth, let sit for a few mins if the grime is very stuck on and rinse thoroughly until the smell of alcohol is gone. However, if you want something stronger without harsh chemicals we recommend Momma Janes Cleaner for all of our accessories. Its an all natural multi-purpose cleaner that gets oils and stuck on grimes off in a breeze with the fresh scent of lemons! We highly recommend you make sure to clean your glass pieces often to protect your lungs and always make sure to rinse out pieces well after any cleaners to avoid inhaling unwanted chemicals. Keep an eye on our blog as we plan to share more information/tutorials in the future on how to maintain/clean you're pieces.
  • How do I know I have an authentic Moonstoned Alternative hand-painted piece?
    Everyone of our Hand-painted pieces are one-of-a-kind and never duplicated. This means no 2 of our hand-painted pieces are ever the same even if they have the same theme. So it doesn't matter if you buy a custom piece from us or purchase from our "ready to ship" collection, if it is hand-painted we will include a signed and stamped Certificate of Authenticity from the Artist so you know you have an authentic Moonstoned Alternative collectors piece. In the case of losing or damaging your certificate please contact us for further support/information.
  • Where are you located? Where can we find you? Are you available in shops?
    If you are in the Local Ottawa, Ontario capital and surrounding areas we occasionally attend Pop-ups and markets across the city. To keep up with our events and pop-ups follow us on instagram. We are currently open to opportunities for retail spots in shops across North America. If you are a retailer interested in carrying our exclusive collections and products in your shop feel free to contact us for more information.

  • How do you accept payments?
    If you purchase anything through our site you currently have the option of paying using either Paypal or any major credit card processed using Square at check out. If you are placing a custom order: For all Custom orders: Typically we require a 50% deposit. Once you have contacted us and decided on the details of your custom order we will e-mail you an invoice through Square for the deposit. Payment for deposit can be done either via Paypal or any major credit cards. E-transfer is also available by request. The rest of the payment for your custom order will be invoiced once the piece is painted via e-mail using square invoices. Any other payment questions contact us
  • Where do you ship?
    We currently ship within North America (Canada and USA). If there is any questions about shipping to a specific country feel free to contact us
  • How can I track my package?
    When possible we will provide a tracking number once your package has shipped. Shipping notification and Tracking number will be updated online with your order and you should receive an email notifying of the updates. If there is no tracking number on your order, it probably means your order hasn't shipped yet. So just sit tight and we will update you as soon as we can or contact us to find out more.
